Glamis Castle

Shakespearean dread and centuries of Stewart legend — Earl Beardie's card game is said to echo through the halls on storm nights.

Glamis Castle is woven into Macbeth and into some of Scotland's darkest noble folklore. The most famous tale is Earl Beardie, doomed to play cards until Doomsday in a secret room — with guests reporting rapping, laughter, and candlelight where no door opens.

Investigators and tour guides alike note heavy atmosphere in the chapel, sudden cold in the corridors, and the sense of being studied from gallery shadows. Glamis anchors our Scottish cluster alongside Edinburgh and the Borders.
